About me
Up close and personal

A Vision to Live Better!

I grew up in the small town of South Holland, IL, where I grew up basically with only 2 pretty wealthy friends.  They were great friends and I hope they are well today, because we all took very different roads to grow up after high school. They both instilled in me something special about money and spending. When you invest your values in your kids, they grow up to have responsibilities that you had growing up or, they grow up making the same mistakes you made and learn the hard way. Although the latter can have it's advantages, the former has plenty to grumble about.
One thing is for sure, as long as you have the values in your genes, you'll eventually come around. As I grew up I had a dream watching these 2 friends. I was jealous of their stuff. I wasn't street poor but, I was shopping at the k-mart when they were shopping at JC Penney. Never the less, I stayed friends through it all and showed them what I was good at... being a friend that was true.  But my dream was spawned in time and not in haste. Sure it was to make millions but, where do the dreams of all kids start? That's right, in the clouds of impossibilities. I had no idea what they went through to get where they were and I didn't know what my father did to bring home strip steaks for us kids. But I soon found out after high school was out. I went on to a full time job and started to work toward that millionaire touchdown. I soon found out through trial and tribulation that money brings something with it...greed. Although I didn't know it by that name, I knew it as opportunity to spend on toys I never had and, always wanted. The common pitfall of man.

More money = more "stuff"

"If you don't know what to do with your money, you will really just do anything with it."
~Self

Now I am doing the smart thing by using my money wisely and investing it in things that spin off more money.  Money is a tool, not a toy. My Dad taught me  to respect tools because they are important when you need them. Money is important when you need it right? It's not a big-wheel to be left in the yard and left out so people can trip over it, right? Or a x-box that you can just turn on and turn off when you feel like using it, right? Money is a tool that you value because, when used correctly like the gardening tools, you can sow and reap, and trade and keep.

Understand how YOU can be a part of something bigger! There is a difference to life when you know people have your back. Being financially challenged was a big drawback to growing up. When I started on my own, or at least what I thought was "on my own"(I just started buying things when I wanted) I was left feeling fearful of the creditors ruining my life and things like staying in my comfort zone was "Normal" daily living. I was the only one that decided to change the life I was living. I had to get off my butt and put my head on again! NO ONE forced me or convinced me that I was on the wrong road, I could see the signs and heard the bells of opportunity. I found the people that believe in what I did and became students of theirs. I began to learn again and started living the way I always dreamed! The abundant lifestyle.

Short Biography
Born in Chicago Heights,IL, I grew up as the youngest of three siblings. Early on, I developed a love of Electricity. By the age of 14, I had helped dad with several house remodeling projects! It was mostly demolition, but I got my hands on the wires a few times and got to play a little. After our final project or not too far after that, my Father was diagnosed with Lymph node Cancer. He fought well for 4 years and it seemed like we beat it, when it spread to his bones. I loved my dad and I wanted the chance to grow up like him, so I told him on his way out; "We'll be ok, Dad."
I thought I took it the best when I noticed how the family friendly Matthew was shriveling up. I wrote a book of poetry and, when I looked at it and noticed it was really dark, family and friends noticed I was losing hope. I wasn't showing my Dad we would be ok, I was running like a scared deer! It took me a good year when at the beginning of my Senior year, I decided to change my efforts. I tried like never before. I didn't let myself slip into a failure and I raised all my grades at least one solid grade from all C's. It was at this time that I knew what I could do with my life. Shortly after graduating from high school, I entered South Suburban College where I majored in Math going into the Electrical field.  Although I didn't graduate, I was doing very well in all my classes after 2 years, except Philosophy. For some strange reason I failed miserably! Well, I moved around a lot at that time so, I decided to take
a home study course for the Electrical field. I did complete the course but also found other interests in the meantime. I quickly found work developing my first business  for myself as a landscaper. The electrical field was slowly losing it's color in my sight. I picked up a few other self employment opportunities like car audio installations and miscellaneous house repairs and upgrades. I applied at several Electrical Unions but didn't get farther than the interview. Later I found it's a long hard process, well I am not going to wait for my talents to expire. By the time they want to hire me I will be as old as them and just as unhappy. No thanks.
I learned a lot with the business, as I was responsible for the first project completion. I started liking the independent aspect. I tried to incorporate landscape with electrical but, everything required a license, OSHA standards, etc. so I was stopped that. The most important lesson I learned was the importance of being helpful and not being afraid to take risks. My risks have continued to evolve to the present day.
I am not in a career in corporate America like the American education system told me to get, although I am building a legacy for the future of my family.

"A vision is the sight you have when you don't use your eyes."

It resounds with your heart and feels good when you think of it helping others. This sight is the fruit of my growth. And the wisdom to navigate through it, is a blessing God has given me. I am doing good with it and teaching others to do the same.
